Job Summary:

The Assistant Operations Manager assists the Operations Manager in overseeing all operations relating to installation of advertising copy, construction & maintenance of outdoor advertising structures (including electrical), buildings, shops, offices and fleet vehicles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Helps manage production operations including construction, installations and material management activities.
  • Collaborates with sales, marketing and finance to set pricing for production services, extensions and other operations-oriented aspects of the outdoor buy; provide pricing and timing estimates for bids and proposals.
  • Provides operational counsel to branch with emphasis on productivity, cost, safety, environmental issues, technology, new build opportunities and production capabilities.
  • Monitors, audits and reports on compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company safety regulations.
  • Coordinates & revises production schedules and priorities based on Client needs.
  • Works with vendors to obtain quotes and make purchase of materials & equipment as needed.
  • Performs administrative activities necessary for effective management of department, including the selection & development of employees; budget administration; planning, organizing and measuring work performance within the department; and negotiating union contracts (where applicable).
  • Initiates, evaluates and implements new technology, methods and procedures.
  • May be required to perform field and warehousing activities as workload requires (i.e. inventory, receiving, maintenance, and copy installations)
  • Maintains accurate records for inventory of materials, clients, personnel and other reporting purposes.
  • Oversees records & maintenance of entire fleet of vehicles, cranes and other equipment.
  • Represents the company at local agency hearings, inquiries, inspections, etc. as appropriate.
  • Acts as the on-call contact for building security system(s) and emergencies.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

  • Two (2) + years' experience in the construction trade or related trades
  • One (1) + year of supervisory experience

Skills

  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills and able to multi-task and balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs to access work sites at heights of 100 feet or more.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at times. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to high.

  • Able to travel outside of the office 25% of the time for client meetings, corporate meetings, and industry events.
  • Able to safely climb structures to inspect items such as client postings (as needed).
  • Must possess valid in-state driver's license suitable for light commercial vehicles and other equipment associated with job.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Possess valid driver's license.
