POSITION SUMMARY:
The Network Engineer - Global Network Services is responsible for driving the performance, reliability, and continuous optimization of Advanced Energy's global network infrastructure. This role ensures secure, scalable, and available connectivity across enterprise environments while providing strategic leadership in vendor management and contract oversight for networking services. The position will serve as the lead network engineering authority for the Americas region, with full ownership of regional networking services delivery and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, implement, and support global WAN, LAN, wireless, and hybrid cloud networks
  • Design, implement, and regularly test global network disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans.
  • Analyze long-term network traffic trends to forecast bandwidth needs and propose infrastructure scaling strategies.
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure
  • Maintain core network services including DNS, DHCP, and IP address management
  • Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues
  • Perform lifecycle management including upgrades, patching, and hardware refresh
  • Support network security controls including segmentation and access policies
  • Provide Level 2/3 operational support and participate in incident and change management processes
  • Serve as the final escalation point for complex Level 3 network incidents, conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams on global connectivity requirements
  • Maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks
  • Manage relationships with ISPs and hardware vendors, including circuit provisioning, SLA enforcement, and contract evaluations.
  • Support contract lifecycle activities including renewals, negotiations, and cost optimization

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Location: Denver, Colorado or Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Environment: Office environment

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies such as LAN, WAN, routing, switching, and wireless
  • Understanding of network security principles and hybrid cloud networking
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills

EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years of network engineering experience supporting enterprise or global environments
  • Experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, complex high-value contracts, and managing contract reviews

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP preferred

COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 to $130,000 per year.
