Job description

CGS is looking for an Army qualified Maneuver Control Cell (MCC) Digital Master Gunner (DMG) to support the US Army's Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, KS.
The Maneuver Control Cell (MCC) Digital Master Gunner (DMG) provides critical technical, analytical, and operational support to the U.S. Army Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) in the execution of Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) and Mission Rehearsal Exercises (MRXs).
The MCC functions as an economy-of-force response cell, staffed by MCTP contractor personnel and augmented by tasked unit Soldiers. The MCC operates under the supervision of the MCTP S-35 FUOPS Chief, providing the simulation stimulation and digital interaction necessary to create a realistic, integrated operational environment for training audiences.
The DMG enables the MCC to effectively portray and control simulated maneuver forces through Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS), ensuring seamless digital representation and realistic integration between MCC-controlled forces, higher headquarters, and competitive commands.
Key Responsibilities
  • Mission Command Systems Integration:
    • Serve as the MCC's subject matter expert (SME) for Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS), ensuring realistic portrayal of friendly, higher, and opposing force activities across digital networks.
    • Manage system setup, operation, and troubleshooting for key platforms such as CPOF, JBC-P, GCCS-A, AFATDS, and DCGS-A (or their follow-on/replacement systems).
    • Ensure interoperability of MCIS with simulation and data systems used during MCTP events.
  • Exercise Support and Stimulation:
    • Operate and maintain MCC digital systems to provide realistic stimulation exercise participants during Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) and Mission Rehearsal Exercises (MRXs).
    • Replicate unit-level reporting, maneuver updates, and operational products that contribute to an immersive training environment.
    • Ensure accurate and timely digital representation of operations, including situational updates, command graphics, and operational overlays.
  • Technical and Operational Coordination:
    • Coordinate with Higher and Competitive Commands to ensure digital connectivity and synchronization of operations.
    • Collaborate with simulation controllers, exercise planners, and unit participants to maintain system fidelity and consistent digital communication flow.
    • Provide on-site digital system troubleshooting, configuration, and user support to MCTP staff and exercise participants.
  • Execution Environment: Execute duties from forward exercise locations during MCTP events.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint software.
  • Familiar with current Army and Joint doctrine.
  • BS/BA degree with 5+ years of military experience, or high school education with 10 years military experience.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Army Digital Master Gunner Course graduate or equivalent training/experience with Mission Command Information Systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with Army MCIS in an operational or training environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following systems: CPOF, JBC-P, AFATDS, GCCS-A, DCGS-A, or CPCE.
  • Previous experience supporting MCTP, Combat Training Centers (CTCs), or other large-scale Army training events.
  • Operational experience at Division, Corps, or higher headquarters levels.

Working Conditions: Inside Government training facilities.
Required Travel: Employees will travel to temporary work locations during exercises.
Job Type: Part-Time On-Call, Exempt
Contract Length: More than 1 year
