Job description

Responsible 24/7 for day-to-day facility operations including Security, Maintenance, Infrastructure, CAPX responsibilities, Project Management, Team Development, Management of individual projects, and the management of a 2-shift, in-house, support staff. Must have and be capable of troubleshooting and technical expertise to help clients achieve the highest levels of performance. The individual is responsible for planning, controlling and coordinating the entire range of facilities/maintenance activities within the plant including contributions to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity. Supervise and manage day to day employee relations. The individual must also have a working knowledge of QMS procedures, ability to handle external audits, and be able to organize all records that support QMS related assignments.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Serves as liaison with contractors, engineers, regulatory agencies, material and equipment suppliers, and other parties as required.
  • Manages and oversees facility specific operations and maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Plans, organizes and controls functions and activities of space planning, renovations, projects, building of new facilities and grounds.
  • Plans, coordinates and monitors the renovation and modification of existing facilities, or construction and development of new physical facilities.
  • Develop and implement facility-specific operations and maintenance processes as required.
  • Evaluates schedules and work assignments where there are task and resource conflicts.
  • Prepare reports documenting operations and maintenance performance submitting to Plant Manager.
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance for the facility under the manager's control including responding to urgent and emergency situations.
  • Acts as primary customer contact for customers located within the facility, meeting with the customers to review schedules and cost and technical performance.
  • Monitors facility and services metrics, identifying and evaluating emerging issues, and making recommendations to ensure performance to standards.
  • Identifies the need for additional vendors and subcontractors and coordinates requirements with Supply Chain Management.
  • Works with Supply Chain Management to establish an inventory strategy that ensures adequate supplies are available to support routine preventive maintenance including long lead items.
  • Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan, making adjustments as necessary to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Provides direction, development, and coaching to employees.
  • Supports the preparation of proposals; business plans; proposal work statements and specifications; operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Ensures federal, state, local and corporate policy and regulatory compliance
  • Ensures employees are current in skill and regulatory training
  • Provide a workplace free from serious recognized hazards and comply with standards, rules and regulations issued under the OSH Act.
  • Examine workplace conditions to make sure they conform to applicable to OSHA standards.
  • Make sure employees have and use safe tools and equipment and properly maintain this equipment.
  • Establish or update operating procedures and publicize them so that employees follow safety and health requirements.
  • Ensure labelling of hazardous chemicals, implement a written hazard communication program, and train employees on hazardous exposures, and proper safety and handling precautions.
  • Correct cited violations by the deadline set in the OSHA citation and submit required abatement verification documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Experience overseeing daily operations of teams of varying skill sets and levels.
  • Must have a proven track record in maintenance operations and management, work team management, schedule management, and customer relations.
  • Broad-based knowledge and experience in facility operations and maintenance, facility systems sustainment, and work management is required.
  • Must have solid verbal and written reporting experience.
  • Outstanding team working skills are required.
  • Versatile knowledge of technical maintenance (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic)
  • Supervisory skills directing multifunctional maintenance staff.

  • Five years manufacturing experience with progressive increase in responsibility required.
  • Two years maintenance leadership experience.

EDUCATION
  • BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience and responsibility in a maintenance field.
