Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

Bellefonte, PA, US

Restek is a 100% employee-owned company that develops the analytical chemistry tools scientists rely on to solve real-world problems — from food safety to environmental monitoring to clean energy. As an ESOP, every Restek employee is an owner, which means the reliability of our manufacturing and facilities is something our whole team has a direct stake in.

We're looking for a Maintenance Planner & Scheduler to help keep that operation running smoothly. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind planning and scheduling maintenance work across our manufacturing equipment, facility infrastructure, utility systems, and building automation — and you'll serve as the go-to administrator for our CMMS. If you like bringing order to complex, moving-parts environments and want ownership (literally) over the reliability of the systems you support, we'd like to talk to you.

What You'll Do
  • Build detailed maintenance work plans — covering labor, timing, tools, permits, procedures, and parts — for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Own the weekly and daily maintenance schedule, balancing planned work against emergencies, backlog, and shifting business priorities.
  • Partner with Production and Engineering to coordinate maintenance activities that minimize disruption and maximize equipment uptime.
  • Plan and support major shutdowns, annual outages, and equipment overhauls through detailed resource coordination.
  • Serve as site administrator and subject matter expert for the CMMS, maintaining asset hierarchies, PM programs, bills of materials, and maintenance procedures.
  • Analyze maintenance history, failure data, and downtime trends to identify reliability improvements, support root cause analysis, and track KPIs like PM compliance and labor utilization.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and vendor coordination for critical assets, and support the reliability and performance of HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, and building automation systems.
What You Bring

This role typically requires an Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, Mechanical or Electrical Technology, or related field plus 5 years of maintenance, reliability, facilities, or maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (with 2 of those years including hands on CMMS experience) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional skills and abilities include:

  • Comfort reading technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.

Experience with Building Automation or Energy Management Systems and a background supporting TPM, Lean Manufacturing, RCM, or Predictive Maintenance programs is a plus.

This role involves walking throughout manufacturing, warehouse, utility, and office areas; climbing ladders and stairs to access mechanical spaces; occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds; and working around varying temperatures, noise levels, and equipment operations.

Employment with Restek will require successful completion of background check(s) and pre-employment drug screen in accordance with Restek policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
