Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This role focuses on operating roller machines in a production environment, including setting up equipment, loading materials, and ensuring consistent output. You work independently in your assigned cell, use precision measuring tools, and help maintain a safe and efficient workflow while meeting established production targets.

Responsibilities

  • Set up roller machines according to production specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Load materials into the machine and monitor the production process to ensure consistent quality.
  • Operate roller machines efficiently to meet or exceed the target of approximately 140 rollers per hour.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to perform precise measurements and verify product dimensions.
  • Inspect finished parts and make basic adjustments to the machine to maintain quality standards.
  • Work independently in an assigned production cell while coordinating with team members and supervisors as needed.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily production activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the shift.
  • Support general production and assembly tasks as needed to meet overall production goals.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • Experience with general production or assembly work.
  • Comfort working independently and maintaining productivity in an assigned work cell.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to perform precision measurements.
  • Experience with shear or press brake equipment.
  • Previous general labor or production experience in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

This position is on the 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (CST), providing a consistent four-day workweek with extended shifts. You work in a manufacturing environment within an individual production cell, operating roller machines and using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. The role requires standing for most of the shift and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds while handling materials and finished products.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
