Location: Greenfield, IN
Shift: 2nd Shift Only | Full-Time | Direct Hire
Salary: $55,000-$60,000 annually
+ Paid at straight time for any hours worked over 40

Position Overview
First Call Professional is currently recruiting for a Machining Group Leader / Supervisor – 2nd Shift to join a manufacturing team in Greenfield, IN. This role is responsible for leading machining operations, coordinating production activities, and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met during second shift operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong machining knowledge who can support production teams, solve operational issues in real time, and maintain smooth workflow across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Review production orders, specifications, and schedules
  • Establish priorities and sequencing of machining operations
  • Coordinate workflow to meet production deadlines
Supervision & Operations
  • Direct and support machining team activities on 2nd shift
  • Supervise through team leads or directly on the floor as needed
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met
Machine & Process Oversight
  • Inspect machines and equipment for proper operation
  • Troubleshoot machining, operational, and maintenance issues
  • Minimize downtime and support continuous production flow
Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Monitor production reports and identify inefficiencies
  • Support process improvements to reduce costs and improve output
Leadership & Administration
  • Manage attendance, PTO, and timekeeping processes
  • Support documentation of production data and reporting
  • Conduct disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Train and coach team members to improve performance
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR equivalent manufacturing leadership experience
  • Strong machining or production background required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documents
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Basic math skills including algebra and geometry
Technical Skills
  • Experience with Plex Manufacturing Software preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to interpret production data and reports
  • Strong problem-solving in manufacturing environments
