Position Overview Section

We are seeking a highly skilled Multimedia & Audio-Visual Specialist to support communications, educational technology, and multimedia production initiatives in a professional government environment. This role combines video production, graphic design, instructional support, marketing communications, and audio-visual technology management.

The ideal candidate is a creative and technically proficient professional with experience in multimedia production, e-learning development, and audiovisual systems support. This individual must be comfortable working independently, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting strategic communications objectives.

Essential Job Functions

Multimedia Production & Creative Services

  • Create, edit, and produce professional multimedia content including:
    • Video
    • Audio
    • Photography
    • Graphics
    • Marketing and promotional materials
  • Perform full video post-production including:
    • Footage review
    • Editorial decision-making
    • Rough cuts and final edits
    • Audio mixing and enhancement
    • Color correction
    • Motion graphics and visual effects
    • Compression and formatting for multiple delivery platforms
  • Modify and update previously developed multimedia projects as directed.
  • Develop visual assets and graphics for:
    • Computer-based training
    • Online learning products
    • Technical classroom materials
    • Stand-alone training media

Educational Technology & Instructional Support

  • Provide audiovisual and classroom technology support to instructors, staff, and leadership.
  • Demonstrate and train users on classroom and multimedia equipment operation.
  • Consult with subject-matter experts and instructional designers to create engaging visual learning solutions.
  • Support and manage educational technologies and multimedia systems.

Audio Visual Operations & Equipment Management

  • Assist with inventory management of audiovisual and computer-related equipment.
  • Support equipment ordering, tracking, database entry, storage, coding, and disposal processes.
  • Coordinate internal and external media duplication services when required.
  • Ensure all audiovisual systems and equipment remain operational and properly maintained.

Communications & Branding

  • Support strategic communications and marketing initiatives through multimedia production and visual storytelling.
  • Ensure all products comply with:
    • Air Force Research Laboratory branding standards
    • Organizational communication requirements
    • Applicable government branding guidance
  • Contribute to branding initiatives including:
    • Logos
    • Coins
    • Promotional materials
    • Campaign graphic

Collaboration & Professional Support

  • Participate in collaborative multimedia and eLearning projects.
  • Support special initiatives including:
    • eLearning symposiums
    • Capability presentations
    • Partnership projects
    • Documentation development
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary communications and production teams.
Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Media, Video/Broadcast Production, or a related field; and/or a minimum of five (5) years of Audio-Visual Technology experience.
  • Demonstrated broadcast production experience with increasing responsibility in a professional video editing and production environment.
  • Experience developing e-learning packages for distribution on Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications including:
    • Premiere Pro
    • Audition
    • Photoshop
    • After Effects
    • Illustrator
    • Captivate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work quickly and independently.
  • Working knowledge of film theory and professional video production practices.
  • Ability to maintain a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, integrity, and professionalism when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Department of Defense branding and communication policies, including Tongue and Quill standards.
  • Experience working within military environments with understanding of rank structure, military protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience supporting government or defense-related communications initiatives.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office 365 tools, including:
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Microsoft Planner
    • Microsoft Power BI
    • Microsoft Forms
    • Microsoft Access
    • Microsoft Publisher
  • Experience with Tricaster® live production systems.
  • Educational theory or instructional design experience.
