Job Description

We have a career opportunity for a Senior Manager, Business DevelopmentThis position would work remotely, with the preferred candidates being located within 50 miles of New York, NY, or the Houston, TX area.
Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for developing IHI's client base in each of its service lines, as well as growing the Company's brand image and recognition throughout the energy industry, including conventional and renewable power generation. The right candidate will bring senior- or executive-level relationships with IPPs, private equities, and financial institutions, and possess a proven track record cultivating services-based contracts from initial contact and proposal development all the way to financial negotiations and contract execution. More importantly, the right candidate will assimilate into IHI's Like We Own It corporate culture, which highlights the way we do business and the way we treat our clients. In addition to seeking and developing long-term clients, the preferred candidate will provide leadership and mentorship to subordinate staff and assist in the preparation of the next generation of IHI leaders.
This position will begin as an individual contributor position, and report to the Vice President, Business Development. Position is accountable for project, revenue, and gross margin generation. Job encounters a wide variety of work situations, travel requirements, and complex project evaluations. The Salary range is $150,000 - $170,000 and will depend on experience.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for growth of the Company's Services Business Lines, including operations & maintenance (O&M), asset management, technical and compliance services.
  • Build business relationships and professional networks with vendors, legal firms, financial entities, and others supplying services to the conventional and renewable power generation industry.
  • Position the company to propose on short- and long-term services projects.
  • Lead and/or support development of comprehensive proposals that differentiate IHI from its competitors.
  • Attend conferences and trade shows and cultivate speaking engagements at key industry events.
  • Develop marketing and branding collateral to increase brand recognition.
  • Leverage parent and subsidiary best practice and combine resources.
  • Maintain relationships with new and existing clients, project partners, vendors, suppliers, and community stakeholders.
  • Identify Service Line business acquisition opportunities that may be of interest to the company.
  • Work with FP&A to lead development of commercial modeling related to project opportunities.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • An Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or Marketing, preferred.
  • Five or more years of proven "deal closure" experience in a power development or services environment, with a preference in renewable energy.
