Bedrock Robotics

Job description

Join the team bringing advanced autonomy to the built world
At Bedrock, we're moving AI out of the lab and into the real world. Our team includes veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. Today, we're deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction equipment across the country, improving safety on job sites and accelerating schedules on critical infrastructure projects.
We're not here debating the future of AI. We're deploying it in the real world. In just two years, we've raised $350M and achieved the first fully autonomous excavator deployments in construction.
This is where algorithms meet steel-toed boots. You'll work alongside construction veterans and world-class engineers to solve physical-world problems that simulations can't touch. If you're ready to do meaningful work on hard problems, we'd love to have you join us.
Bedrock Robotics is a San Francisco-based startup (founded in 2024) focused on bringing autonomous capabilities to heavy construction equipment, is seeking a skilled Contract Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating various heavy equipment on construction and engineering projects, with a strong understanding of the trade and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Experienced and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator with a strong background in operating, maintaining, and inspecting heavy machinery on construction and industrial sites
  • Proficient in operating equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, forklifts, and other heavy machinery
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, site procedures, and OSHA standards to ensure a safe work environment
  • Minimum of 10 years of heavy equipment experience hands-on experience
  • Skilled at performing routine equipment inspections, preventative maintenance, and reporting mechanical issues
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and site managers
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while meeting project deadlines and quality standards
  • Available to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work weekends as needed to meet project demands
  • Committed to high-quality workmanship, equipment care, and job site safety

Qualifications:
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Reliable attendance with the ability to work Monday through Friday and weekends as needed
  • Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform manual labor as required
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred (if applicable)
  • OSHA certification or equipment-specific certifications preferred (if applicable)
  • Must be able to pass a drug test

Our roles are often flexible. If you don't fit all the criteria, or are in another location (especially one where we have an office like SF or NY), please apply anyway! We'd love to consider you.
