Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: Sumner, WA
Salary: $35–$45/hour
Shift: Full-time, Day Shift

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. You will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on equipment including:
    • Excavators (CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, John Deere, Link-Belt)
    • Dozers and track loaders (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere)
    • Wheel loaders and skid steers
    • Motor graders
    • Articulated and rigid dump trucks
    • Compactors and pavers
    • Backhoes and telehandlers
    • Scrapers and pipe layers
  • Perform preventive maintenance (oil, filters, fluids, belts, hoses)
  • Read and interpret service manuals and electrical schematics
  • Document repairs and parts usage accurately
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience
  • Strong diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems knowledge
  • OEM dealership experience preferred (CAT, John Deere, Komatsu, Volvo, CASE, Hitachi, etc.)
  • High school diploma or technical certificate
