Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Residential Sales Estimator to join our team. This is a customer-facing, on-the-road role focused on meeting with homeowners, assessing project needs, and selling residential fence installations. The ideal candidate has prior fence industry experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to confidently guide customers from estimate to signed contract. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and collaborating closely with clients, sales teams, and project managers to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution. Your expertise will help drive revenue growth by providing transparent, precise estimates that align with client expectations and company standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to residential construction projects by leveraging your estimating skills and construction knowledge to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

Meet with homeowners on-site to assess fencing needs and take measurements

  • Recommend appropriate fencing solutions based on customer goals, property layout, and budget
  • Prepare and present detailed estimates and proposals
  • Close sales and convert leads into booked jobs
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide excellent service throughout the sales process
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handoff
  • Manage schedule of appointments and follow-ups

Requirements

  • Required: Prior experience in the fencing industry (sales, installation, or estimating)
  • Proven sales experience, preferably in residential construction or home services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on the road and in office
  • Comfortable with in-person, customer-facing sales
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proficiency in estimating tools and Microsoft Office software
  • Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, cost control strategies, and pricing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience on construction sites is highly desirable to understand field conditions and challenges.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Excellent project management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure clarity and alignment.
