Job Description

Join a reputable, family-owned fencing contractor as a Fencing Laborer supporting residential and commercial fence installation projects throughout North Central West Virginia. In this hands-on role, you assist experienced crews with all phases of fence installation, perform a variety of physical labor tasks outdoors year-round, and develop practical skills in a stable, team-oriented environment with opportunities for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist fence installation crews with measuring job sites accurately using tape measures and other basic tools.
  • Unload, organize, and stage fencing materials and supplies at residential and commercial job sites.
  • Dig post holes using hand tools and power tools as directed by the installation crew.
  • Set fence posts in place, ensuring proper alignment and spacing according to project specifications.
  • Mix and pour concrete to secure fence posts and support structures safely and effectively.
  • Install fence panels, gates, and related components under the guidance of experienced installers.
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely to cut, fasten, and adjust fencing materials as needed.
  • Perform general labor duties such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
  • Follow directions from supervisors and experienced crew members to complete projects on time.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with loading and unloading tools and equipment.
  • Support safe work practices by following company safety procedures and using required protective equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction on every project.

Essential Skills

  • Strong work ethic and a demonstrated willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to read tape measures and perform basic measurements accurately.
  • Comfort working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
  • Capability to perform manual labor, including standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Mechanical aptitude to work with basic hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Pay and Benefits
