GeoLogics is working with a top Aerospace and Defense client looking for a Design Engineer in Orlando, Florida.

Role: Design Engineer

Client: Top Aerospace and Defense company

Location: Orlando, Florida

Schedule: 4/10 with 50% Telework

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Contract Length: 6 months with possibility of extension

Rate: $55 to $65 (per hour on a non-benefitted W2 contract)

Job Description:

  • We are looking for Electromechanical Engineers with extensive experience in designing and integrating complex electronic hardware.
  • The roles focus on creating detailed mechanical layouts for Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) boards, selecting appropriate connectors, and ensuring fit, clearance, and tolerance compliance using PTC Creo and Windchill.
  • You will troubleshoot manufacturing issues, support DFM/DFA reviews, define and oversee test plans, and manage board integration with enclosures.
  • Cable and harness design, as well as Zuken experience, are strong pluses.
  • Documentation, BOM management, and cross‑functional collaboration with mechanical, electrical, systems, reliability, and manufacturing teams are essential.
  • CCA BOARD LAYOUT & DESIGN IS REQUIRED FOR THESE ROLES.
  • 4/10 schedule. Every Friday off.

Required Experience:

  • Must have a BS degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with CCA board mechanical design, connector selection, and manufacturing support.
  • Must have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Creo and Windchill.
  • Must have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Zuken, IPC standards, and aerospace/defense product cycles.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and project‑management skills are a must, as is the ability to produce high‑quality design documentation and guide test and integration activities.
