Job description

EPMA is seeking two hands-on Business Analysts for a high-volume data project based onsite in Houston.

We need data-focused BA who enjoys working directly with large datasets, bringing structure to complex information, and translating technical terminology into clear business language. The project involves reviewing and working through approximately 100,000 lines of existing data, primarily using Excel and an existing client system. You will help make this information more structured, understandable, accurate, and user-friendly for Business and IT stakeholders.

 

Title: Business Analyst

Type: 4-6 months Contract

Location: Houston Downtown- Need to be onsite - 5 days a week

Industry: Oil & Gas

W2 Employment only, No C2C, No 1099

No Relocation

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze, organize, and structure large volumes of existing data.
  • Work extensively in Microsoft Excel to manage and improve data usability.
  • Translate technical terminology and complex data into clear, business-friendly language.
  • Act as a conduit between Business and IT owners, ensuring information and requirements are clearly understood.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders through frequent calls, meetings, and working sessions.
  • Maintain strong data quality, consistency, and attention to detail while working to project deadlines.
  • Take direction from the Project Manager and independently execute assigned work without constant supervision.
  • Track progress and provide clear project status updates and reporting.
  • Participate in a formal weekly reporting meeting with the Project Manager.
  • Support the successful completion of a large-scale, time-sensitive data initiative.

 

Experience Required:

  • Hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, ideally supporting data-intensive projects.
  • Strong practical experience with Microsoft Excel and large datasets.
  • Proven ability to organize, analyze, validate, and simplify complex information.
  • Experience translating technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Strong track record of working between Business and IT stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience providing project status updates and reporting on completed work.
  • Ability to take direction and then work independently and deliver against deadlines.
