Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Montreal-Nord, QC Canada Site is looking for a new Operations Manager to join our Contract Logistics team.

How you create impact

The Shift Operations Manager is responsible for governing, coordinating, and controlling operational performance during an assigned shift within a Kuehne+Nagel Contract Logistics facility operating under a 4PL execution model. In this role, all physical warehouse activities are executed by a 4PL partner, while the Shift Operations Manager represents Kuehne+Nagel as the operational authority responsible for service, safety, cost, and compliance outcomes.

The role focuses on performance oversight, issue resolution, and execution control, ensuring the 4PL and Kuehne+Nagel employees delivers in line with contractual obligations, KPIs, and Kuehne+Nagel standards.

Shift Performance Governance & Control

  • Own and govern shift alignment and execution across inbound, outbound, inventory, and value-added operations delivered by the 4PL to meet customer commitments
  • Drive real-time shift control and performance by monitoring KPIs, maintaining execution cadence, and leading structured shift start-ups and handovers to support service, productivity, and quality outcomes.

4PL Partner Oversight

  • Serve as KN's shift authority, coordinating with 4PL leadership to ensure effective execution and operational control.
  • Hold the 4PL accountable for staffing, SOP adherence, issue resolution, and escalation of recurring risks and drive immediate corrective actions through the 4PL

Safety, Quality & Compliance (QSHE)

  • Ensure the 4PL operates in full compliance with Kuehne+Nagel QSHE standards, customer requirements and regulatory obligations
  • Drive a strong safety and quality culture through active monitoring, issue reporting, audit support, and visible leadership on shift.

Operational Issue Management & Escalation

  • Lead shift-level issue resolution through first-level root-cause analysis for gaps and engaging cross-functional support for timely escalation and issue resolution

Performance Reporting & Communication

  • Lead shift performance reporting and communication by tracking key metrics, facilitating shift reviews to ensure accurate documentation of operational results, incidents, and follow-up actions.

Continuous Improvement Support

  • Support continuous improvement within shift operations by identifying performance gaps and ensuring consistent execution of approved process changes by the 4PL
What we would like you to bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably within outsourced or managedservice environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operations through thirdparty providers (3PL/4PL).
  • Strong understanding of warehouse KPIs, operational controls, and service governance.
  • Ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Experience in a high volume Sort Center/Hub.
