Job Summary
The Contracts Analyst (CA) reviews, updates, and monitors contracts and other transactional documents between Dynalectric and its clients. The CA provides assistance on various legal, risk management, insurance and compliance issues related to Dynalectric transactional documents. The CA will be trained and supervised by the Contracts Director.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Review and process contracts and contract change orders
  • Meticulously analyzing clauses, terms, and obligations in contracts to identify key contract risks.
  • Suggests alternative language to agreements to minimize contract risks to Dynalectric.
  • Tracks contract changes during the contract negotiations process.
  • Monitors and coordinates the contract approval process.
  • Processes executed contracts and contract change orders to include filing and updating internal job tracking software.
  • Assures that all documents are completed according to established polices and quality standards.
  • Contract life cycle communication (provide contract status/requirements appropriate stakeholders such as DMs, PMs, Contracts Specialist, Contract Administrator, etc.)
  • Advises operational staff on relevant contract clauses and requirements to aid in compliance with these requirements, assure client's needs are met, and avoid disputes.
  • Maintains an understanding of state, Federal and local laws to assist in the effective review of agreements and provide insight into the impact of such on operations.

Other duties as required
  • Attend meetings (project kick-offs, point out important contract matters and notice requirements.)
  • Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
  • Promote Dynalectric company culture/standards (lead from the front.)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of assuring efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Qualifications
  • JD Degree or bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years as a Contracts Analyst; construction industry preferred.
  • Passed the Bar exam in state residing or a Certified Contracts Manager.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and contracting practices.
  • Experience writing and reviewing contracts, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and city regulations and guidelines.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel.)
  • Familiarity with project management/document control software.
  • Familiarity with construction/financial software packages.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by Contracts Analyst to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The CA is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Office-based, in a temperature-controlled environment. Typical working hours for the CD are Monday - Friday during normal business hours.
