Job description

We are looking for an In-House Attorney that advises various Menard, Inc. divisions on its legal rights, obligations, and privileges. You will join a great team of attorneys at Menards general offices located in scenic Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Eau Claire offers a great quality of life with a variety of outdoor recreation, entertainment, dining, and community activities. The city is conveniently located about one hour east of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Metropolitan area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support workers’ compensation and premises liability claims management. Lead external and internal resources in support of the defense of workers’ compensation matters and premises liability actions in tort.
  • Research, review, and apply applicable statutes, regulations, and case law to a variety of legal matters.
  • Develop knowledge in various legal principles, including but not limited to contract, tort, property, labor and employment, consumer and commercial law.
  • Apply developing complex factual scenarios to existing law.
  • Responsible for contract drafting and review.
  • Prosecute and defend legal cases, including debt collection, on the company’s behalf as assigned.
  • Other miscellaneous duties that arise or are assigned by the General Manager of In-House Counsel.
