What does a content writer do?

A Content Writer is responsible for creating written material for websites, blogs, social media, marketing campaigns, and other digital or print platforms. Their primary duties include researching topics, writing engaging and accurate content, and editing their work to ensure clarity, grammar, and adherence to a specific style or brand voice. To thrive as a Content Writer, you need excellent writing, editing, and research skills, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio of published work. About Sarah O.
We believe every piece tells a story - one as unique as the person wearing it. Sarah O. is a woman-owned fine jewelry company known for our distinctive designs, ethically sourced materials, and thoughtful craftsmanship. Our collections blend timeless elegance with modern artistry, featuring everything from alternative bridal pieces to custom creations that celebrate life's most meaningful moments.
We're growing - adding retail locations, deepening our DTC presence, and building the team that will take us to the next chapter. This is a pivotal moment to join a brand with strong bones and a clear ambition.
Join us in bringing authenticity to the world of fine jewelry, one story at a time.
Who You Are
Sarah O. is looking for a senior social, content, and influencer leader to own strategy and manage execution across our most visible and relationship-driven marketing channels. This is a newly created role, built to close the most significant gap in our current marketing infrastructure: unified, intentional strategic leadership across content, organic social, creator partnerships, and brand collaborations.
You will know our customer data, customer personas and product offerings like the back of your hand. You will use that knowledge to set overall content direction across the Sarah O. brand as well as our new sub-brand, The Story We Wear. You will own the overarching content strategy across both brands, lead our organic social, Influencer and PR efforts, hand-in-hand with our Brand Marketing Manager, and Digital Marketing Manager to ensure the brand shows up with clarity, consistency, and cultural relevance at every touchpoint. You will work closely with our Director of Marketing to understand business goals and objectives and use KPIs to show clear progress towards those goals on a monthly and quarterly basis.
We are looking for someone who can think at the level of brand architecture and translate that thinking into content ecosystems, creator programs, agency direction and content that helps us acquire and retain the attention of our customers.
What You'll Do
Social & Content Strategy
  • Own the organic social and content strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging platforms for both Sarah O. and The Story We Wear
  • Develop platform-native storytelling frameworks that translate brand values and product innovation into culturally relevant narratives
  • Build and maintain a scalable always-on content ecosystem alongside campaign-specific activations
  • Define editorial voice, content pillars, and seasonal storytelling cadence
  • Oversee content across formats including short-form video, editorial, email storytelling, blog, UGC, and campaign content execution
  • Develop a content repurposing strategy that maximizes the value of each asset across channels
  • Ensure a clear differentiation as well as clear connection points between Sarah O. and The Story We Wear

Influencer & Creator Partnerships
  • Build and lead a structured influencer and creator program aligned with brand positioning and commercial objectives
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with creators across bridal, fine jewelry, fashion, and lifestyle categories
  • Own deliverables, usage rights, performance tracking, and ROI measurement across all creator relationships
  • Develop a tiered partnership model from micro-creators to aspirational brand voices

Brand Partnerships & Collaborations
  • Identify and develop strategic brand partnerships that extend Sarah O. and The Story We Wear's reach and reinforce brand positioning
  • Manage partnership execution from outreach through content delivery and performance review

Agency & Freelancer Management
  • Serve as the primary in-house strategic lead for our organic social, PR, influencer and partnership programs
  • Set briefs, review output, and hold agency partners accountable to brand and performance standards
  • Source and manage freelance writers and designers as needed to support content and campaign requirements
  • Evaluate agency and freelancer performance and make recommendations on structure and spend over time

Content & Brand Narrative
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to ensure brand voice is consistent and compelling across all channels
  • Partner with the Brand Marketing Manager on visual identity, campaign assets, and product storytelling
  • Partner with our Digital Marketing Manager to consistently ensure that our content strategy is leveraging our Digital Marketing and Ecomm initiatives and vice versa
  • Develop a strategy for authentically incorporating founder voice and brand heritage into content, leveraging our unique position as a founder led jewelry company with strong brand loyalty

Performance & Insight
  • Build content programs with clear goals that are aligned with overarching business objectives and regularly demonstrate progress towards those goals
  • Define KPIs across social, content, and influencer channels
  • Build a test-and-learn culture grounded in analytics
  • Consistently report on performance with clear strategic recommendations

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in social media strategy, content marketing, influencer marketing, or a combination
  • Proven experience setting and meeting goals across social, content and influencer channels and a demonstrated ability to move the needle for the business
  • Demonstrated track record building and scaling social and content programs for consumer brands
  • Experience across content formats including video, editorial, and short-form social content
  • Experience directing and managing external agencies and creative partners
  • Strong creative instincts with the ability to balance brand storytelling with commercial objectives
  • Data fluency - comfortable with analytics, audience insights, and connecting content to business outcomes
  • Experience in fine jewelry, fashion, luxury, or high-consideration consumer categories is a strong plus
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Highly organized and effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment

Tools & Platforms
  • Social: Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and scheduling tools (Planoly, Sprout Social, or similar)
