Job description

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER, BROADCAST

As a key member of the Communications team, the Executive Producer is a visual storyteller who owns live broadcast coverage for launch webcasts, helps commission supporting assets, and manages the production of internal and external livestreamed events. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as producer and show caller for broadcasts, serving as central point of communication for talent and crew during broadcast.
  • Develop and implement content strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives for various platforms and projects, including live events, broadcasts, social media, and other digital channels.
  • Support documentary and other long‑format filming requests including approvals, scheduling, interview prep, physical production, asset management and approvals, and directly managing third‑party film crews to ensure content aligns with SpaceX’s filming guidelines, messaging, and overall objectives.
  • Actively monitor and track significant milestones for the company and put plans in place to create supporting broadcast content.
  • Collaborate with internal content producers, designers, and other key members of the team to develop imagery and visuals around company achievements, milestones, and goals to ensure the most innovative and effective messaging is delivered.
  • Monitor the performance metrics of broadcasts and related content to improve content development strategies.
  • Provide training and mentorship to SpaceX webcast hosts and manage auditions as necessary.
  • Maintain trackers, status reports, and key process documents.
  • Be the conduit between existing teams and customers for asset management and data collection.
  • Set and own project timeline and budget for highly complex and large‑scale projects.
  • Create and review RFPs, treatments, budgets, project schedules, and distribution plans to support strategy, goals, and content production.
  • Negotiate and manage project statements of work, estimates, and related deliverables.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience in live event or television production working with creative teams, including both internal creative teams and/or external agency partners.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong understanding of photo, video, and digital creative production, best practices.
  • Prior hands‑on experience with physical production, post‑production.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with impeccable writing skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience working in an always‑on, fast‑paced, and dynamic, team environment.
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure and parallel path multiple workstreams.
  • A cursory understanding of rockets and aerospace.
  • An understanding of evolving AI tools and how to implement into a production workflow.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel in support of events and launches.
  • This position will work from Hawthorne, California – remote work will not be considered.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Level 3: $135,000.00 - $200,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
