What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a content optimization manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Content Optimization Manager, you need expertise in SEO, content strategy, analytics, and digital marketing, typically supported by a relevant degree and experience in content management. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, CMS platforms, and A/B testing software is essential. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication help you collaborate and drive continuous improvement. These skills and qualities are crucial for maximizing content performance, increasing audience engagement, and achieving business goals.

What is the difference between Content Optimization Manager vs Content Strategist?

AspectContent Optimization ManagerContent Strategist

Skills & CertificationsSEO certifications, analytics tools, content management systemsContent marketing, branding, audience analysis

While both roles involve content, the Content Optimization Manager primarily focuses on enhancing existing content's visibility and performance through SEO and technical improvements. In contrast, the Content Strategist develops overarching content plans and messaging to guide content creation. Both roles often collaborate but serve different strategic and tactical purposes within content marketing.

What are some common challenges content optimization managers face when aligning content strategies with SEO goals?

Content Optimization Managers often encounter challenges when balancing user-focused content with technical SEO requirements. They must ensure that content is engaging and valuable to readers while also optimizing for search engine algorithms, which can sometimes have conflicting priorities. Additionally, staying updated with frequent changes in SEO best practices and communicating these updates to cross-functional teams can be demanding. Effective collaboration with writers, designers, and developers is essential to implement optimization strategies without compromising the brand's voice or user experience.

Position Summary

As the Content Marketing Manager for the StrongDM and Fastpath product lines, you will develop and amplify content across the combined StrongDM, Fastpath, and Delinea marketing ecosystem, from campaigns to customer advocacy to brand storytelling. StrongDM and Fastpath each have their own specialized value propositions, and this role ensures both stories are consistently amplified within the broader Delinea Platform narrative.

This role calls for strong writing, an understanding of all three brand voices, and working SEO/GEO knowledge to drive awareness, engagement, and conversion across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign & Web Content

  • Write and edit copy for campaigns, including emails, digital ads, landing pages, and in-product CTAs.

  • Write and update content for StrongDM, Fastpath, and Delinea web pages, including blogs, solution pages, guides, and eBooks.

  • Partner with the SEO/GEO team on keyword strategy and search intent.

  • Collaborate with product marketing to keep messaging consistent.

Content Repurposing & Amplification

  • Turn core assets, such as blogs, eBooks, webinars, and reports, into social posts, newsletter content, infographics, and derivative articles.

  • Manage distribution partnerships, guest posts, and syndication to extend reach across paid, owned, and earned channels.

Customer Marketing

  • Support customer case studies, video testimonials, and reference materials that show business outcomes across the StrongDM, and Fastpath, product lines.

  • Maintain a quote and proof-point library and a sales-facing "brag book."

  • Support participation in G2 and Gartner Peer Insights reviews.

Content Governance

  • Audit existing content for drift from current positioning and lead sunsetting or rewrites as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in content marketing within cybersecurity, GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance), and B2B Enterprise SaaS. Direct experience in identity security or access governance is a plus.

  • Writing Excellence: Ability to write clean, benefit-driven copy across formats, from campaign copy to long-form thought leadership.

  • SEO/GEO Fluency: Working knowledge of keyword strategy, search intent, and content optimization.

  • AI Proficiency: Comfortable using AI tools for content drafting, research, and optimization to accelerate production across campaigns and SEO/GEO workflows.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Comfortable working across demand gen, product marketing, design, and customer success teams.

  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

Why work at Delinea?

  • We\'re passionate problem-solvers helping the world\'s largest organizations protect what matters most: their human and machine identities.

  • We invest in people who are smart, self-motivated, and collaborative.

  • What we offer in return is meaningful work, a culture of innovation and great career progression.

At Delinea, our core values are STRONG and guide our behaviors and success:

  • Spirited - We bring energy and passion to everything we do

  • Trust - We act with integrity and deliver on our commitments

  • Respect - We listen, value different perspectives, and work as one team

  • Ownership - We take initiative and follow through

  • Nimble - We adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment

  • Global - We embrace diverse people and ideas to drive better outcomes

We believe weaving these core values into our day-to-day actions, and our process for hiring, evaluating, and promoting employees, helps us cultivate a work environment that embraces collaboration and camaraderie.

We take care of our employees. We offer competitive salaries, a meaningful bonus program, and excellent benefits, including healthcare insurance, as well as pension/retirement matching, comprehensive life insurance, an employee assistance program, time off plans, and paid company holidays.
