The Opportunity

This position works out of our Pleasanton, CA location in the Heart Failure Division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

The Product Lifecycle Manager drives operational excellence for the Chronic Heart Failure franchise. You will lead cross-functional teams to manage on-market products from launch through end-of-life (EOL). This role partners closely with Manufacturing Sites, Quality, R&D, Marketing and Regulatory Affairs to ensure supply continuity and product optimization. You will oversee critical operations initiatives, including geographic expansions, lifecycle strategy execution, and product performance improvements.

What You’ll Work On
  • Lead the most complex cross-functional project teamsto drive life cycle strategy execution
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables with a focus on supplier performance and risk mitigation.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage execution plans for Geographic Expansion and Tier 2/3 country product launches.
  • Operational Continuity: Proactively identify and mitigate End-of-Life (EOL) risks and component obsolescence issues.
  • Governance & Prioritization: Implement rigorous project governance aligned with the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
  • Process Optimization: Standardize project execution methodologies to reduce non-conformance events and improve operations.
  • Risk Mitigation: Build and maintain comprehensive risk registers for on-market manufacturing and engineering changes.
  • Prepare and present project status reportsto stakeholders, highlighting risks, milestones, and quality-related outcomes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, set priorities, allocate tasks, and guide project staff to meet key deliverables and regulatory milestones.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the medical devices or similar field
  • A self-directed, efficient individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have excellent project and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
