The Senior Content Marketing Manager reports to the Director, Content Marketing and serves as a seasoned, senior individual contributor responsible for developing and executing content marketing strategies, programs, and assets that drive audience engagement, consideration, demand, conversion, and retention across Robert Half's priority hiring manager and job candidate audiences. This role brings deep content marketing specialization, strong judgment, and the ability to resolve a wide range of complex content marketing challenges in creative, performance-oriented ways.

This role works independently on complex content marketing initiatives, normally receiving little instruction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new assignments. Working closely with Integrated Marketing, Brand Marketing, Brand Design Studio, Performance Marketing, Analytics, Web, and Communications teams, the Senior Content Marketing Manager develops audience-focused content marketing programs that help customers discover, understand, engage with, and take action on Robert Half's services through traditional search, AI-powered discovery experiences, landing pages, email, and other marketing experiences.

What You'll Do

Content Marketing Strategy, Audience Planning & Content Marketing Expertise

  • Develop audience-focused content marketing strategies aligned to integrated marketing plans, business priorities, audience needs, and growth objectives.

  • Lead the most complex and strategically significant content marketing initiatives supporting enterprise priorities, major integrated marketing programs, and high-value audience growth opportunities.

  • Identify content marketing opportunities based on search behavior, audience insights, market trends, seasonal demand drivers, campaign priorities, and performance data.

  • Lead development of content marketing roadmaps that support awareness, consideration, conversion, retention, and content marketing reuse across channels.

  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert on content marketing strategy, SEO, AEO, content architecture, search intent, and AI-discovery best practices.

  • Partner with Integrated Marketing Managers to translate audience growth strategies into content marketing programs, priorities, and requirements.

  • Partner with Communications to activate thought leadership for marketing use cases while maintaining clear ownership boundaries between content marketing and editorial, reputation, or executive visibility work.

  • What success looks like: Content marketing priorities are tightly aligned to audience needs, business objectives, search opportunities, and integrated marketing plans.

Content Marketing Development, Writing, Editing & Optimization

  • Develop, write, edit, and optimize complex content marketing assets across channels and formats, including SEO content, AEO content, service pages, landing pages, email nurture programs, FAQ content, and campaign content.

  • Lead complex content marketing initiatives where analysis of diverse inputs, audience needs, performance data, and business requirements is needed to determine the best approach.

  • Translate complex business topics into clear, useful, audience-centered content marketing assets that support engagement, consideration, and conversion.

  • Ensure content marketing assets reflect brand standards, messaging frameworks, audience insights, search intent, and business priorities.

  • Provide content marketing review and quality assurance for high-impact content marketing assets developed by internal and external contributors.

  • Establish and evolve content marketing quality standards, frameworks, and best practices that improve consistency, scalability, and performance across the Content Marketing team.

SEO, AEO, Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply advanced SEO and AEO content marketing practices to improve discoverability across traditional search engines and AI-powered discovery experiences.

  • Use judgment to select the appropriate content marketing methods, formats, structures, calls to action, and optimization techniques for each assignment.

  • Evaluate content marketing performance and identify opportunities to improve search visibility, AI answer readiness, audience engagement, conversion, and reuse.

  • Partner with Analytics, Web, Performance Marketing, and Digital Marketing teams to evaluate performance data and improve content marketing effectiveness.

  • Conduct content marketing audits and develop recommendations for refresh, consolidation, reuse, retirement, and optimization.

  • Leverage AI-enabled content marketing workflows and tools to improve speed, quality, consistency, and scale while maintaining accuracy and brand standards.

  • Informally mentor and coach Content Marketing Managers and Content Marketing Writers by sharing expertise and helping elevate overall team capabilities.

What You'll Need

  • BA in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or related field.

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in content marketing, digital marketing content, marketing communications, copywriting, or related disciplines.

  • Demonstrated success developing content marketing strategies and content marketing assets that support demand generation, engagement, conversion, and business growth.

  • Deep experience creating and optimizing SEO-focused content marketing assets for digital channels.

  • Strong understanding of AEO principles and how content marketing is discovered, summarized, cited, and surfaced in AI-powered environments.

  • Experience leading complex content marketing initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, channels, data inputs, and business considerations.

  • Experience working as a senior individual contributor who operates independently with limited day-to-day instruction.

  • Experience in B2B, B2C, professional services, staffing, consulting, technology, or complex business environments.

The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.

$97,000.00 - $142,000.00
