Job description

The Content Development Specialist is responsible for creating, managing, and executing high-quality content that supports Schebler's marketing, sales, and brand awareness initiatives across multiple business units, including Chimney Systems, Specialty Fabrication, HVAC, CryoDuct, Engineered Stacks, and Schebler. This role develops engaging, technically accurate content that strengthens brand consistency, supports lead generation, and positions Schebler as an industry leader. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, creative thinker, and organized self-starter who can translate technical concepts into compelling content while using data and analytics to continuously improve marketing performance.
This position reports to the Marketing Manager. This position works closely with Sales, Engineering, Product Development, Executive Leadership, and subject matter experts across multiple business units to develop marketing content that supports company initiatives.
Key Performance Expectations:
  1. Produce consistent, high-quality content that supports marketing, sales, and business development objectives across all Schebler business units.
  2. Maintain an organized editorial calendar while ensuring marketing projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  3. Increase brand awareness, customer engagement, and lead generation through strategic content development.
  4. Maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging across all digital and print marketing channels.
  5. Utilize marketing metrics and analytics to evaluate content performance and continuously improve marketing effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain a variety of marketing content, including blogs, newsletters, website copy, case studies, LinkedIn posts, email campaigns, technical articles, customer success stories, brochures, and other sales collateral.
  2. Create content supporting multiple Schebler business units, ensuring messaging is tailored appropriately while maintaining brand consistency.
  3. Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform technical and industry-specific information into clear, engaging, and customer-focused content.
  4. Maintain and manage editorial calendars, coordinating content priorities, deadlines, and campaign schedules.
  5. Conduct customer, industry, and competitive research to identify content opportunities and support marketing initiatives.
  6. Monitor content performance using analytics and SEO best practices, making recommendations to improve engagement, lead generation, and overall marketing effectiveness.
  7. Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Product Development teams to support product launches, customer communications, and business development efforts.
  8. Assist in developing and maintaining brand guidelines, messaging frameworks, and content standards across all business units.
  9. Participate in customer interviews, internal meetings, and strategy sessions to gather insights and identify new content opportunities.
  10. Perform quality reviews to ensure content accuracy, consistency, grammar, and adherence to Schebler's brand voice.
  11. Utilize AI tools and other marketing technologies responsibly to improve efficiency while maintaining originality and quality.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of professional content creation, copywriting, marketing, or communications experience required.
Experience creating content for manufacturing, industrial, engineering, construction, or other B2B industries preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Exceptional written, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interviewing and research skills.
  • Ability communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret marketing performance data.

Technical & Professional Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices, tools, and platforms preferred.
  • Experience using marketing analytics tools, including Google Analytics, preferred.
  • Experience with AI-assisted writing tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Gemini.
  • Experience using project management platforms and software.
  • Experience using editing tools.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to a moderate noise level.
