Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Trusted Content team within the Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy Function reporting to the Engineering Manager, Trusted Content Innovation. At Rockwell Automation, the Trusted Content team is redefining how application content is created, trusted, and delivered. As part of the Trusted Content Innovation team, you'll help shape how AI-powered systems and Trusted Content enable engineers and customers to complete projects faster.

You will build hands-on experience developing AI and agentic systems. You will help deliver the future of industrial software. Through research & development of proofs of concept, customer co-innovation, and through collaboration with operating segment development teams, you will help shape how Rockwell Automation Trusted Content becomes a more native aspect of our product portfolio. Additionally, you will investigate and establish methodologies for using Artificial intelligence and Agentic AI as part of our future development processes.

You are curious, collaborative, and stay informed about relevant technology trends and developments. You enjoy solving problems with others and remain flexible as priorities, technologies, and our needs evolve. You work independently, value diverse perspectives, and build trusted relationships that help create positive impact across the T&I organization.

You will report to the Engineering Manager, Trusted Content Innovation.

Your Responsibilities:

Software Development

  • Architect and lifecycle manage AI and agent-based systems for use in Industrial Automation applications
  • Follow established coding, testing, debugging procedures

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Innovation Systems Engineers to translate application requirements into deliverable software solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to ensure efforts are capable to bring ideas to life

Customer Co-Innovation

  • Collaborate with customers on external engagements related to Trusted Content

Other

  • Contribute to relevant standards and artifacts
  • Support global marketing or industry events
  • Support customer or operating segment projects on site

What Success Is:

  • Feasibility: Showcase technical feasibility while assuring business viability and understanding long-term investment needs
  • Customer Outcomes: Positive results leading to productization of results within the product portfolio
  • Structured Approach: Tasks and projects are well-structured, completed, and visible across partners
  • Amplification: Deliver outcomes that ensure the amplification of the output capacity associated with the development of Trusted Content
  • Goal Alignment: Promote understanding across diverse partners across Rockwell Automation
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to team members on the progress and milestones and tasks

Who You Are:

  • Industry Aware. New trends and technologies interest you, and you are curious to explore the impact they have on the work you do.
  • Naturally collaborative. You bring people together rather than working around them, and you do it without making it feel like work.
  • Comfortable with exploration. Innovation does not have a strict guide and change will occur. You are comfortable adapting to deliver through some degree of fluidity.
  • Empathetic. Respect the way things have been accomplished in the past while understanding the role new technology can play in the future of how things are completed.
  • Execution-oriented. Ideas energize you but completion satisfies you. You are the person who follows up, closes the loop, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Connect across levels. You can be in an SVP meeting demonstrating a proof of concept in the morning and working with principal engineers and architects in the afternoon planning a future workflow or innovation.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 25% of time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires 5+ years of relevant professional development experience
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Design, train, and evaluate AI models and algorithms

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud) for deploying AI solutions
  • Collaborate with diverse teams
  • Present concepts and strategies to fellow developers and management
  • Understanding of ethics and best practices in AI development
  • Experience working with or developing standards or frameworks
  • Experience with industrial automation
What We Offer:
  • Health Insurance including Medical, Dental and Vision
