Job description

Fairchild Media Group is seeking an experienced and creative Associate Editor, Strategic Content Development to oversee custom content production at Fairchild Studio, the custom content studio for WWD, Beauty Inc and Footwear News. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of B2B content creation, editorial storytelling, and the digital media landscape. The role is ideal for a journalist with a strong sense of news who can also spot trends and produce well-written stories in a compelling way.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage development and execution of custom content programs including native articles and stories, research reports, multimedia content hubs, video, podcasts and social, as well as moderation of live panels and webinars.
  • Editorial news reporting and special features across all FMG publications) focused on fashion apparel, retail, beauty, luxury goods, accessories, textiles, and retail real estate as well as the technologies that support these segments.
  • Partner with the sales and marketing teams to ideate content proposals and to meet with clients and assess their content needs.
  • Sourcing interviews, conducting market research, and identifying industry trends, such as changes in consumer behavior, emerging technologies such as generative AI, and the impact of macroeconomic forces on business.
  • Optimization of content for SEO, social, syndication, and other referral sources, and ability to leverage traffic analytics to increase engagement and grow audience

Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of professional writing/editing experience, specifically with B2B focus within the fashion apparel, retail, beauty, and related segments
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to distill market trends, assess the content needs of sponsors and work under strict deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage several projects at once and work under tight deadlines.
  • Well-versed in digital strategy, analytics, and SEO best practices
  • A passion for fashion apparel, retail, beauty, and technology
  • As PMC values in-person collaboration and team cohesion, employees work onsite 4 days a week and 1 day remotely, with a focus on maintaining a vibrant and inclusive culture
