About the Team

Our Experience Design (XD) Team is at the forefront of enriching our customers' lives with exceptional digital experiences and we need an experienced Content Designer (Senior Associate) to help us in our mission of changing banking for good. We're looking for a team player who can apply their skills and talents to make a true impact on our customers. We love to experiment and learn, we are excited about our future, and we need your help to get there!

About the Role

In this role, you will own the copy / content writing and structure of the secure side experiences across mobile and web - primarily the payments features. You will write effective content from a human-centered lens for money transfer flows. Your impact will help Capital One customers achieve success through a clear understanding of how to interact with core services and features. By collaborating closely with the broader XD team, product, engineering, legal and marketing teams, you will help shape a world-class customer experience in the next evolution of our products and services.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Write content end-to-end for payments features

  • Collaborating closely with Product, Design, Research, Legal, Marketing and Engineering to bring to life experiences Capital One customers will value, trust and love

  • Shaping the experience, not just the copy. You will contribute to IA, navigation and interactive models

  • Use data and customer insights to shape hypothesis-driven recommendations. Leverage analytics, research findings, call-center data to inform recommendations

  • Uphold and elevate standards by applying our voice, tone, content guidelines

  • Write for screen readers, assistive technologies, meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards

  • Support multiple workstreams, contributing toward several key projects

  • Proactively make recommendations and be a voice in the room by sharing a human-centered POV that other team members may not have considered

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of content design or UX writing experience for digital products, including mobile and responsive web

  • Portfolio of 1-2 case studies showing end-to-end thinking of the problem, your approach you used to solution, your specific contribution, notable project constraints and any measurable outcome

  • Demonstrated data fluency. You're comfortable diving into analytics dashboards or presentations.

  • Strong storyteller and presentation skills. You use data and narrative to carry the impact of your work and what a human-centered approach can mean for the program's success

  • Highly organized and self-directed with a track record of delivering against competing priorities

  • Collaborative by nature and eager to build on ideas, fail fast and learn fast

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Financial Services or heavily regulated environments

  • AI fluency - ability to use LLMs as tools to expedite, automate and generate ideas

  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to look ahead and identify best-in-class content and copywriting methodologies / standards

  • Experience contributing content governance within design systems

  • Experience with notification strategy, conversational design or personalization at scale

  • Deep accessibility knowledge or certification

The expected annual salary range for this position is $94,800-$108,200. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
