Your New Roleโ€ฆ

The Senior Analyst, Content Analytics helps CNN understand how its journalism performs, why audiences engage with it, and how those insights can improve content strategy across platforms. Working closely with Editorial, Audience Strategy, Product, Social, Programming, and Revenue teams, this role translates content and audience data into actionable recommendations that inform coverage decisions, audience growth strategies, distribution approaches, and business priorities.

Your Role Accountabilities

Content Performance Analysis & Strategy

  • Analyze content performance across topics, storylines, formats, platforms, and audience segments to identify drivers of reach, engagement, loyalty, and business value.
  • Translate complex audience and content data into clear, actionable recommendations that inform editorial planning, programming, distribution, experimentation, and investment decisions.
  • Provide timely, decision-oriented insights during major news events and other high-priority business moments.

Measurement & Methodology

  • Develop and maintain scalable frameworks, benchmarks, and analytical approaches that enable consistent evaluation of content performance over time, across platforms, and against audience expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve content measurement through stronger taxonomies, data quality practices, instrumentation, and analytical methodologies.
  • Contribute to a shared knowledge base of insights, best practices, and performance learnings that can be applied across teams and coverage areas.

Stakeholder Partnership & Communication

  • Present findings and recommendations to editorial, product, audience, and business stakeholders in clear, concise, and decision-focused formats.
  • Partner with peers across analytics and strategy functions to connect content performance insights with broader audience, engagement, experimentation, forecasting, and business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in content analytics, audience analytics, digital analytics, business intelligence, data science, or a related analytical field.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale digital content and audience datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations and insights for business, editorial, or leadership audiences.
  • Experience applying analytical frameworks, benchmarks, measurement approaches, or recurring methodologies to answer business questions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, actionable analysis in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in digital media, publishing, news, audience development, content strategy, or social distribution is a preference.
  • Experience with content performance analysis, audience segmentation, cohort analysis, experimentation, benchmarking, or editorial research is a preference.
  • Familiarity with dbt, modern data modeling practices, analytics engineering workflows, or Python/statistical scripting languages is a preference.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discoveryโ€™s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $84,011.00 - $156,021.00 salary per year.
