Job description

Position Summary:
The Diemaker is a craft position. Using wood, steel rule knife, and rubber the Diemaker creates a cutting die by hand
with assistance of industry specific automated equipment designed for cutting die production. The Diemaker is
expected to drive Container Graphics CS1 mindset and always represent the company in a positive, energetic, and
consistent manner. They will report directly to the Production Manager.
Essential Functions:
• Perform one or more of the following job assignments for the construction of flat and rotary cutting dies:
o Layout – Read, conform, comply with corporate Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-1
o Sawing – Read, conform, comply with corporate Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-2
o Ruling – Read, conform, comply with corporate Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-3
o Rubbering – Read, conform, comply with Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-4
• Follow all CGC corporate safety program requirements
• Understand and participate in quality checks as required
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in work area
• Read CAD files to accurately assemble custom tools
• Use manual and automated equipment to form materials needed to build cutting dies
• Assemble cutting dies by hand
• Perform all other related duties as assigned
Education / Experience Requirements:
Position Level:
• Entry Level or Experienced
Minimum Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Metal Working Background
Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
• Basic knowledge of math fundamentals, including but not limited to fractions, decimals, and basic geometry
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and caliper
• Good hand/eye coordination
• Basic knowledge of computer platforms
• Good verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of how to operate hand and power tools
Physical Requirements:
• Strength and mobility to perform the duties described above, i.e., standing, moving, lifting, bending, reaching,
pushing, pulling
• Perform repetitive motions and have strong finger dexterity
• Lift up to 65 pounds safely
