Description

Location: Charleston, SC - Clements Ferry Road
Work Arrangement: 100% on-site; remote and hybrid work are not available

3V Sigma USA is seeking an experienced International Export Specialist to join our logistics team in Charleston, South Carolina. This newly created position will manage the end-to-end execution of international ocean and air export shipments, including freight bookings, export documentation, AES/ACE filings, carrier coordination, and in-transit tracking.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on international freight forwarding or export operations experience. This person must be comfortable independently managing high-volume shipments, coordinating with multiple logistics providers, and resolving issues that could affect delivery.

  • Book and execute international ocean freight, including full container load (FCL) and less-than-container load (LCL) shipments.
  • Coordinate international air freight bookings and required documentation.
  • Use Descartes and JD Edwards to create, process, monitor, and maintain export shipments.
  • File Electronic Export Information (EEI) through AES/ACE, obtain and manage Internal Transaction Numbers (ITNs), and complete corrections or amendments.
  • Proactively track international shipments from origin through final destination.
  • Monitor carrier milestones, port activity, cutoff dates, documentation deadlines, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with ocean carriers, airlines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, drayage providers, and South Carolina Ports Authority terminals.
  • Prepare and review export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, certificates of origin, and other shipment-specific documents.
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, holds, and other exceptions to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Investigate and resolve container holds, missed sailings, documentation discrepancies, and other supply chain exceptions.
  • Review freight invoices and maintain complete and accurate shipment records.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in international freight forwarding, export logistics, or export operations.
  • Direct experience managing both ocean and air export shipments.
  • At least two years of daily experience using Descartes or a comparable transportation or logistics platform.
  • Working knowledge of AES/ACE filings, EEI submissions, ITNs, and export documentation.
  • Understanding of U.S. export compliance requirements and international ocean and air freight regulations.
  • Experience coordinating FCL, LCL, and international air freight shipments.
  • Experience working with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, drayage companies, ports, and other logistics providers.
  • JD Edwards experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple shipments, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly address shipment delays, documentation errors, and carrier exceptions.
Why Join 3V Sigma USA?

This is an opportunity to step into a newly created position and take direct ownership of international export execution. The International Export Specialist will work closely with internal departments and external logistics partners to keep our ocean and air shipments moving efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable requirements.
