Job description

Chemical/Container Preparation Assistant supports the clinical and development laboratories by preparing reagents, performing quality checks of laboratory water, performs pipette verification and other support functions. Works with biohazardous chemicals. Supports the clinical and development laboratories by preparing container/kits, performs quality checks of the containers, and works with small amounts of chemicals. Responsible for the prioritizing, scheduling, and delivery routes of containers. Washes and sterilizes laboratory glassware and equipment that are contaminated with biological waste. Provides pick-up and return of processed items to laboratories using carts to move glassware throughout the building and to other locations on campus. Decontaminates biological waste for the department. On-the-job training provided. Works in all areas and other assignments as defined by the Laboratory Supervisor.


**Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic**
