Location: North Houston โ€“ 77032
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am โ€“ 5pm plus some OT
Pay: $19 - $21 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to support daily freight forwarding and warehouse operations. This role is hands-on and involves coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, loading and unloading containers, operating forklifts, and ensuring freight is handled safely and accurately. The ideal candidate has experience in logistics, warehouse operations, and containerized freight.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments in collaboration with operations, carriers, and warehouse staff
  • Load and unload ocean containers and trailers safely and efficiently
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, stage, and organize freight
  • Verify shipment contents against documentation (BOLs, packing lists, manifests)
  • Ensure proper labeling, securing, and storage of freight
  • Track shipments and update internal systems with accurate shipment data
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, or issues to internal teams and customers as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times
Required Qualifications
Forklift certification and proven forklift operating experience (required)
Experience loading and unloading shipping containers
Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or warehouse operations
Ability to lift up to [insert weight, commonly 50 lbs.] and perform physical labor throughout the shift
Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping or warehouse management systems
