Job description

Overview:
Business Title: Sample Management Coordinator II
Position Title: Lab Support Technician II
Division: Consumer Products Services 
Entity: ATL
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Reports to: Manager 
FLSA: Non-exempt
Hours Worked: Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week. However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Position Summary:
The Sample Management Coordinator II is responsible for customer order support, such as weighing compounds that may be highly potent and controlled substances, dissolution transfer preparations, sample staging, shipping, receiving, and updating inventory. The role is also responsible for container direct sample submission support, taring, and weighing using automation. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
It is everyone's responsibility to live out our Values and Absolutes by Shaping a World of Trust while ensuring responsible progress.
   Customer requested sample weighing including highly potent and controlled substances
   Sample support picking and placing for all locations through software driven order processing 
   Preparation of dissolution transfers
   Sample storage maintenance and issue resolution support
   Inventory of sample submissions from third parties
   Preparation and completion of directed sample submission orders
   Disposal of empty or broken sample vials
   Transport samples to various onsite locations 
   Container taring and weighing on automated weighing robots
   Transfer samples from nonstandard containers to approved containers
   Sample shipping support using software to prepare shipment documentation
   Preparation and review of SDS documents for shipments
   Collating sample orders and shipment preparation for shipments to 3rd party collaborators
   Monitor and support consumables inventory and pick up and drop off consumables as needed
   Provide support to internal team members for status updates
   Check and follow daily work plan, complete work processes within designated deadlines, performs all tasks and procedures with daily supervision 
   Clean, organize and maintain work area, glassware (e.g., refrigerators, freezers, and supply cabinets, as needed)
   Assure the accuracy of tasks by adhering to the laboratory's SOPs
   Communicate effectively with team members
   Complies with all safety guidelines
   Assist in administrative aspects of various departmental projects as directed
   Follow the guidelines set forth with clients and in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
   Comply with clients and Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
   Follow the guidelines set forth by clients and the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan.
   Other duties as defined by manager, department needs and workload.

Skills & Proficiencies:
   Must be comfortable handling chemical samples
   Must be highly organized and able to prioritize workload and complete orders
   Communicate professionally and concisely - both written and verbal
   Have solid experience maintaining a high attention to detail
   Familiarity with MS Office Suite and SharePoint sites
   Ability to quickly understand job-specific software
   Team-oriented and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
   Must be able to work with specified turnaround times in a production environment
   Experience in handling large quantities of samples and orders
   Driven, energetic person coordinating activities among different areas of the department
   Problem solving and process improvement ability  
   Ability to perform multiple tasks

Education and Experience:
   Degree requirement: Associate's Degree in Chemistry or closely related field  
   Minimum of one (1) year of experience of laboratory research in a highly detail-oriented environment

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.

Compensation Range: $22.00-$24.00 per hour  (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset).
