Job description

Job Title: Litigation Associate โ€“ Consumer Class Actions
Location: Multiple Locations (Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C)

Direct Counsel represents an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Litigation Associate with 3โ€“6 years of experience to join its growing consumer protection and complex litigation practice. This role offers hands-on responsibility representing clients in high-stakes consumer class action litigation, regulatory matters, and complex commercial disputes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage consumer class action and complex litigation matters from inception through resolution

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery; handle discovery disputes and case strategy

  • Take and defend depositions and conduct witness interviews

  • Participate in regulatory investigations and enforcement matters

  • Advise clients on compliance, litigation risk, and consumer protection regulations

  • Collaborate with cross-office teams on complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation

Qualifications
  • 3โ€“6 years of litigation experience, with consumer class action experience required

  • Experience with TCPA, state mini-TCPA laws, automatic renewal laws, or consumer protection statutes preferred

  • Familiarity with FTC, FCC, CFPB, or state regulatory investigations is a plus

  • Excellent legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Active bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction of practice
