Position Overview :

Our customers invest in Proofpoint because we deliver the best threat protection in the industry. The? Manager, Threat Protection Services ?leads a team of Threat Strategy Managers (TSMs) across different regions who ensure customers maximize the value of their investment through proactive engagement that advances their email security programs. This leader will work closely with PCMS leadership to evaluate ways to improve customer satisfaction, ensure retention, and defend the Managed Threat Program. The Manager will develop team goals that align with corporate objectives while providing mentoring, coaching, and tactical/strategic guidance to the Threat Strategy team daily.

Continuous improvement is central to this position. A working knowledge of current threat actors, information security threats, and risks to our clients - including the ability to provide guidance on discovered threats - is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Threat Strategy Managers; serve as a role model for professional growth and technical excellence

  • Responsible for talent development - finding, hiring, developing, andretainingthe best technical talent

  • Assign MBOs (ManagementByObjectives) to team members aligned with corporate goals

  • Provide tactical and strategic guidance to the team daily

  • Identifyand prioritize short-term and long-term goals for the team

Customer Advocacy & Escalation Management

  • Manage andmonitorsupport interactions, serving as an internal advocate for Proofpoint customers

  • Respond to customer escalations and proactively escalate when needed

  • Monitor level of customer satisfaction and serve as a point of escalation for satisfaction issues

  • Provide get-well plans for customers at risk of non-renewal; manage the health of the customer portfolio

Strategic & Operational Oversight

  • Develop and oversee comprehensive strategies to meet complex customer requirements utilizing Proofpoint's solutions

  • Plan and lead process improvement initiatives tailored to improve customer satisfaction with services and interaction with the Proofpoint team

  • Develop innovative ways toleverageexisting data and correlate customer data with other datasets available at Proofpoint

  • Plan, document, andidentifyrisks and challenges for production changes that span multiple services or technologies

  • Responsible for scheduling own time and quality completion of multiple tasks within a varying environment of changing constraints

Threat Intelligence & Technical Leadership

  • Maintain a deep understanding and up-to-date handle on the evolving threat landscape

  • Design and implement solutions to complex problems with minimum supervision; use independent judgment within broad parameters

Desired Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in the information security field

  • 6+ years of industry experience in a client/professional services, sales engineering, senior support engineering, IT operations management, or senior engineering role with exposure to multiple technology areas

  • Managed security or consultancy experiencerequired

  • Proven leadership ability with a history of successfully motivating and inspiring teams

  • Relevant experience with Proofpoint products and understanding of threat protection (Gateway, TAP, TRAP)

  • Background in security, especially around threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment as well as independently

Preferred

  • Deep understanding of email threat landscape including phishing, BEC, malware, and credential theft

  • Familiarity with SIEM technologies and security event correlation

  • Experience with customer success platforms (e.g.,Totango, Salesforce) for account health tracking

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent

  • Experience building and scaling service delivery teams in a high-growth environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off, a comprehensive well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days per year, plus a three-week Work from Anywhere option.

Base Pay Ranges:

SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:

Base Pay Range: 136,200.00 - 214,005.00 USD

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:

Base Pay Range: 112,700.00 - 177,100.00 USD

All other cities and states excluding those listed above:

Base Pay Range: 101,600.00 - 159,720.00 USD
