What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Consulting RFP (Request for Proposal) Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Consulting RFP Specialist, you need strong analytical abilities, proposal writing skills, and a solid understanding of consulting services and procurement processes, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with RFP management tools like RFPIO, proposal automation software, and CRM systems is typically required. Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and persuasive communication set standout performers apart in this role. These skills are crucial for creating compelling proposals that win business and ensure compliance with client requirements.

What are some common challenges faced when preparing a consulting RFP, and how can applicants address them?

One common challenge in preparing a consulting RFP is ensuring that responses are tailored to the specific requirements and objectives outlined by the client. Applicants often need to balance demonstrating expertise with providing clear, customized solutions. Additionally, meeting tight deadlines and coordinating input from multiple internal stakeholders can be demanding. To address these challenges, it's important to thoroughly review the RFP, communicate closely with your team, and allocate ample time for drafting and revising your proposal. Strong project management and attention to detail can significantly improve the quality and competitiveness of your submission.

What is a Consulting RFP?

A Consulting RFP (Request for Proposal) is a formal document that organizations use to solicit proposals from consulting firms or independent consultants for a specific project or service. It outlines the project's scope, objectives, timeline, budget, and evaluation criteria, allowing consultants to submit detailed proposals on how they would address the organization's needs. The RFP process helps organizations compare different consultants' approaches, experience, and costs to make an informed hiring decision.

About
In the perfect storm of technology forces shaping the business world, the question is not whether companies need to adapt to stay competitive but which tech partner to trust for long-term business improvement and transformation needs.
That's why iShare was founded: to be that credible IT partner that cuts through the buzzword clutter to deliver real value by real people. And that starts with doing the basics right.
Who We Are
Based in New Jersey, iShare is a boutique IT consulting firm with strategic advisory, development, and staffing services designed for specific industry verticals. iShare was founded to fill a real market need - with so much noise about cloud, big data, and information security, companies today are adopting software product after product and losing sight of which they need and why, while what they really need is credible consulting that takes the time to understand their company's unique scenario and requirement, and then architect a solution accordingly.
Recognizing this gap, senior industry executives put their credibility on the line to form iShare and ensure they create a fulfilling experience with lasting value for all stakeholders - customers, employees and partners. iShare leadership team has 20+ years average IT experience and is well-rounded in technology, operations, account and customer management. Our experience spans C-Suite positions with Fortune 100 firms as well as mid-tier firms. Our background includes stints at multibillion-dollar ITO / BPO firms as well as startups.
