United Drywall and Contracting is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Punch Techs to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and finishing drywall installations, ensuring high-quality standards are met on every project. Your expertise will help bring construction visions to life by meticulously addressing imperfections, smoothing surfaces, and preparing walls for final finishes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial buildings to residential remodels, contributing to the creation of safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces.
What you get to do:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of drywall installations to identify imperfections such as dents, gaps, or uneven surfaces.
  • Use hand tools and sanding equipment to smooth out drywall surfaces and prepare them for painting or finishing.
  • Apply joint compound (mud) and tape to seams and joints for seamless wall surfaces.
  • Repair water damage or mold issues by removing damaged drywall and restoring affected areas.
  • Collaborate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to ensure drywall work aligns with project schematics and blueprints.
  • Read blueprints and schematics accurately to determine proper placement of drywall panels, fixtures, and openings.
  • Install accessories such as trim carpentry, door hangings, fixtures, and moldings as needed.
  • Perform caulking around windows, doors, and joints for airtight seals.
  • Assist with framing using metal studs or wood as required for wall structures.
