Job description

Tri City Drywall, a trusted drywall contractor serving Colorado Springs since 1972, is looking for an experienced Commercial Operations Manager to oversee commercial drywall projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, enjoys building high-performing teams, and is committed to delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget. Tri City Drywall specializes in drywall installation, steel stud framing, acoustical ceilings, repairs, and custom residential finishes for builders, commercial contractors, healthcare facilities, and landmark projects throughout Southern Colorado.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily field operations for multiple commercial drywall projects.
  • Manage project schedules, manpower, equipment, and material deliveries.
  • Supervise installers, finishers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Coordinate with estimators, builders, general contractors, and customers.
  • Ensure projects stay on schedule while maintaining profitability.
  • Conduct job site inspections to verify workmanship, safety, and quality standards.
  • Resolve field issues quickly and professionally.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Monitor labor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Participate in hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of field employees.
  • Manage budgets, change orders, job costing, and project documentation.
  • Attend project meetings and maintain excellent communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction throughout every phase of construction.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of drywall or commercial construction management experience.
  • Previous experience managing multiple construction crews.
  • Strong understanding of drywall installation, finishing, metal stud framing, and acoustical ceilings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience scheduling labor and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; construction management software experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in both office and field environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial construction projects.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of estimating and project budgeting.
