Job description

SUMMARY: The Quality Control Site Specialist is responsible for supporting quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) efforts on utility-scale solar construction projects. This role performs site inspections, verifies compliance with project specifications and industry standards, and helps identify and address quality issues to ensure high-quality project delivery. The position works closely with site leadership, subcontractors, and project teams to maintain construction quality and drive continuous improvement. This is an on-site position which requires an ability to travel to our projects in CA, NV, and AZ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily site inspections to verify work is completed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Monitor installation activities (civil, mechanical, and electrical) to ensure compliance with applicable codes and best practices.
  • Identify quality issues and deficiencies; document findings and assist in implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support root cause analysis efforts for non-conforming work and assist in tracking resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation, including inspection reports, checklists, and NCR logs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on quality expectations.
  • Assist in enforcing compliance with OSHA, NEC, and other applicable regulations.
  • Participate in pre-installation meetings, walkthroughs, and punch list activities.
  • Support commissioning and turnover processes by verifying installation quality and completion of required documentation.
  • Coordinate with third-party inspectors as needed to support inspections and approvals.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on the job site.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 2–4 years of experience in construction quality control, solar construction, or electrical construction required
  • Experience working on utility-scale solar projects strongly preferred but not required
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required (or equivalent field experience)
  • Basic knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and construction quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented, field environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with construction/QAQC software tools is a plus
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30 or NABCEP (associate level) are a plus
