Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced heavy Civil Construction Manager (CM) for (Los Angeles / Orange County / San Bernardino) the Southern California Region. Work will, at times, be outside this region. A CM performs construction administration for solid waste facility capital improvement projects. The CM is responsible for monitoring, documenting, scheduling, directing, and communicating to clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and Tetra Tech personnel. A successful CM is also responsible for assisting the project manager in ensuring all projects arrive within budget & scope, deliver capital projects to the client within scope and budget, identifying and troubleshooting problems in the field, and ensuring project safety. The pay scale for this position is $125K to $155K annually, based on qualifications and experience.
Your Role:
  • Uphold an impeccable safety culture
  • Document all facets of construction activities
  • Understand the scope, schedule, and budget for each area project
  • Track construction budgets, prepare, and review pay applications
  • Establish positive client relations and new business development
  • Generate detailed daily logs that account for the work performed for each construction day
  • Effectively and proactively help forecast and track construction schedules
  • Coordinate with clients, subs, engineers, and contractors

Qualifications:
  • 10 to 15 years' experience with construction administration / resident engineering with heavy civil construction (experience with solid waste facilities is a plus), two (2) years' experience given for bachelor's degree in related field
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (prefer a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, geology, or related field of study)
  • Ability to perform planning, organization, schedule management, and cost control
  • Maintain positive client interaction
  • Travel for extended periods within CA for up to six (6) months
  • Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain outdoors
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis
  • Pass a company paid, baseline health physical and drug screening
  • Ability to obtain, and keep in good standing, a valid driver's license
  • Available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
  • Ability to apply applicable environmental regulations and regulatory requirements to projects
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Prepare detailed field reports and effectively communicate in writing to multiple audiences on time sensitive issues
