Position Description
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the field implementation of the Ajax QC program, inspection of the paving operations, conducting testing procedures, documentation of site conditions and plastic concrete, ride quality measurements and the measuring and reporting of work performed.
We are looking for an individual who can work in a team environment, exhibit honesty and trustworthiness, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This is an hourly, union position with full benefits. A valid driver's license, a good driving record and a high school diploma/GED are required.
Position Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in field construction, specifically concrete manufacturing, paving and testing
  • Experience and knowledge of Ride Quality measurement and Profilograph operation
  • Possess or able to obtain:
    • ACI CONCRETE FIELD TECHNICIAN - LEVEL I
    • ACI STRENGTH TESTING TECHNICIAN
    • MCA LEVEL II ADVANCED CONCRETE TECHNICIAN
    • SUPER AIR METER CERTIFICATION
    • MCAT AGGGREGATE CERTIFICATION
    • AMES PROFILOGRAPH OPERATOR
  • Company is willing to provide training in certification areas

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand, climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements. Also may require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds.
