The opportunity

Senior Project manager is responsible for delivering IT projects to schedule, budget and quality. The role requires mastery of the technical knowledge of project management inter-related process stages i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management. Proficiency in related processes such as portfolio management, program management, methods and tools and quality assurance is also required. Senior Project manager must have excellent stakeholder relationship management skills to successfully lead and manage the project team and project stakeholders, and have expertise recognized and requested by customers.

The role will primarily focus on EYโ€™s Real Estate construction projects and the deployment of office technology including but not limited to; AV, Network, Print, IoT solutions, Smart Lockers and Workstation devices.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead the development of project charters and scopes, ensuring the timely delivery of technology solutions that align with construction project schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure alignment with relevant EY stakeholder playbooks for pre-initiate through project closure processโ€™.
  • Execute relevant project management processes, focusing on the integration of technology into construction phases, including scope, cost, time, risk, resource, and stakeholder management.
  • Monitor and control project activities to ensure alignment with technology deployment objectives and construction timelines.
  • Manage risks, issues, and changes across both business and IT components of construction projects.
  • Report variances to the approved project baseline (based on EYโ€™s technology tiering strategy), providing insights into technology integration challenges and successes.
  • Formalize project closure to ensure acceptance of technology solutions and release of project resources.
  • Interface and communicate effectively with project teams, management, and stakeholders to ensure seamless technology deployment.
  • Oversee project work and resources to facilitate the successful and timely implementation of technology solutions.
  • Conduct gate reviews and quality assurance assessments related to technology integration within construction projects.
  • Deliver projects that align with overall business and technology strategies and are implemented according to industry best practices for RE construction projects.
  • Manage external contracts and suppliers as necessary to support technology deployment.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholder teams to develop business cases, focusing on technology solutions that align with stated requirements and offices use.
  • Define project objectives, phases, and content to deliver on business case benefits, budget, and timelines, with a focus on technology integration.
  • Ensure adherence to quality project standards as prescribed by EY Technology through effective implementation of approved processes and methodologies.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Proven experience managing IT projects with accountability for delivering technology solutions in large, complex construction projects, typically valued up to $10 million and lasting 12 to 18 months.
  • Mastery of project management methodologies, tools, and templates, with a focus on technology deployment in construction settings.
  • Strong customer focus, characterized by openness, trust, and a commitment to delivering on promises.
  • Experience managing contracts to ensure compliance from vendors and suppliers in technology-related agreements.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • A degree in Computer Science, Construction Management, or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience.
  • 15 to 20 years in a corporate IT environment
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in project management, particularly in construction-related IT projects.
  • Relevant experience in technical fields such as deployment/implementation, and infrastructure within the construction industry.
Ideally, youโ€™ll also have
  • Project management certification (PMI/CAPM or PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Familiarity with ITIL v2 or v3.
  • Work experience in a professional services industry, particularly in a construction based technology deployment role.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youโ€™ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $116,300 to $217,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $139,600 to $247,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
