Job description


Our high-profile electrical contracting company, based in Salt Lake City, is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Equipment Operator to join our team. We take pride in being a reliable and quality-driven partner for clients across a wide range of construction markets, including healthcare, energy/oil & gas, higher education, large-scale commercial, and high-end residential projects throughout the Western United States.

As an Equipment Operator, you will work closely with our electrical crews, foremen, and project managers to support daily job site operations. Responsibilities include safely operating a variety of construction equipment such as mini excavators, skid steers, forklifts, street sweepers, trenchers, and similar equipment. You will assist with trenching, material handling, site logistics, and equipment placement while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient job site. The role also includes performing daily inspections, basic repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment, as well as coordinating equipment movement and transport.

The ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • Valid CDL
  • Proven experience operating construction equipment, including mini excavator, skid steer, forklifts, street sweeper, trencher, and related equipment
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance, inspections, and basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to work 8–12 hour days as required by project schedules
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid safety awareness and ability to work on active construction sites
  • Construction experience preferred; electrical or utility experience a plus
  • Crane certification is a plus, but not required
