Job description

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Bridge Foreman to lead bridge construction crews on heavy civil transportation projects. The Bridge Foreman is responsible for supervising daily field operations, coordinating manpower and equipment, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring work is completed on schedule. This position requires strong leadership skills and extensive hands-on experience with bridge construction activities including concrete structures, formwork, falsework, pile driving, reinforcing steel, and structural concrete placement.

The successful candidate will work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors to safely deliver high-quality bridge and structure projects.

This project is out of state and will require travel for 12+ months.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise bridge crews in daily construction activities.
  • Plan, schedule, and assign work to crew members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company, client, OSHA, and DOT safety requirements.
  • Coordinate bridge construction operations including:
    • Bridge decks
    • Abutments
    • Piers
    • Retaining walls
    • Structural concrete placements
    • Reinforcing steel installation
    • Formwork and falsework systems
  • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and grade information.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project schedules.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain a strong safety culture on the jobsite.
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure all work meets project specifications and quality standards.
  • Communicate regularly with Superintendents, Project Managers, Engineers, and inspectors regarding project progress and potential issues.
  • Assist with planning concrete pours, structural steel activities, and other critical operations.
  • Track production, manpower utilization, and equipment needs.
  • Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and maintain project schedules.
  • Train, mentor, and develop crew members.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of bridge construction experience, including supervisory or foreman-level responsibilities.
  • Strong background in heavy civil construction and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with bridge structures, reinforced concrete, formwork systems, and structural construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and bridge construction best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead crews and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and adapt to changing project conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Experience with DOT, state highway, or municipal projects is preferred.
