SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is seeking Concrete Workers, Millwright/Welders, and Working Millwright Foremen based out of our North East, MD office. Our work spans deep foundations, heavy industrial concrete projects, machinery moving, facility relocations, plant maintenance, and installation of material handling systems. We're looking for experienced, motivated individuals who can contribute hands-on in the field, with the Foreman role providing leadership and direction to crews while actively working alongside them.


Employees will be based out of Kinsley's North East, MD office but travel in the mid-Atlantic region for projects will be required. Kinsley will provide hotels and transportation for this required work-related travel. When you work for Kinsley, your time and travel matter. Our competitive wages and Incentive Zone Pay program help ensure employees are fairly compensated based on where the work takes them. Kinsley offers an Incentive Zone Pay program for hourly field employees, providing additional hourly compensation based on the distance traveled from an employee's home address to the job site (up to $5.00/hour), on top of base wages.

Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Concrete Worker

  • Use and/or assist with instruments for precise layout.
  • Perform excavation and backfill.
  • Non CDL truck driving is required.
  • Perform formwork, placement of anchor bolts and placement of embeds.
  • Perform placement of rebar.
  • Perform placement of concrete including large mass pours, foundations, formed piers, formed walls, supported slabs and small areas of slab on grade.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Millwright/Welder

  • Use instruments for precise layout.
  • Perform rigging work including jacking, skating, heavy forklift operation and loading/unloading trucks.
  • Perform steel erection including shake out, connections and detail work.
  • Perform installation of miscellaneous metals
  • Perform installation of conveyors, dryers, and other material handling equipment
  • Perform installation of equipment and piping in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants
  • Field verify dimensions and perform field fabrication and fitting.
  • Working at heights utilizing ladders, man lifts, etc. is required.
  • Must be willing to work some weekends as needed for client shutdowns.
  • Must be willing to travel for "out of town" jobs as needed and some will require overnight stay.

Millwright Foreman

  • Ensure job sites follow safety standards through the implementation of high-quality work practices.
  • Lead and manage crew members to complete specific projects.
  • Delegate responsibilities and individual tasks to crew members.
  • Oversee and train new crew members.
  • Communicate and report job status effectively.
  • Utilize instruments for precise layout as needed.
  • Supervise rigging work including jacking, skating, heavy forklift operation, and loading/unloading trucks.
  • Oversee steel erection including shake-out, connections, and detail work.
  • Supervise the installation of dust collection systems, conveyor systems, and various industrial equipment.
  • Verify dimensions and supervise field fabrication and fitting.
  • Communicate and interface with clients, maintaining Kinsley's reputation as a top-tier contractor.
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints, and convey this information to others.
  • Identify and research adequate resources, labor, and equipment, to complete projects efficiently.
  • Perform other related duties and functions as needed.


REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 5+ years of field experience as a millwright/rigger for millwright position.
    • Previous experience directing a workforce for millwright position.
    • Experience with equipment installation, specifically in "heavy industry" and/or the erection of mining equipment.
    • Comprehension of construction drawings is required for the concrete position.
    • Must be familiar with all means of placement and curing of concrete for the concrete position.
    • Willingness to work weekends as needed for client shutdowns.
    • Willingness to travel, with overnight stays as necessary.
    • Ability to work at heights utilizing ladders, man lifts, etc.
    • Proficiency in operating man lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, skid steer loaders, cranes, etc.
    • Understanding of construction drawings.
    • Familiarity with working around cranes and hand signals
    • Strong communication skills along with the ability to multitask.
    • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a DOT physical.
