Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager at a fuel station in Lincoln, IL, where you will oversee small retail and commercial remodels. This role requires managing onsite operations, ensuring safety, and coordinating daily activities with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite management of small retail and commercial remodels.
  • Enforce safety regulations and conduct safety audits.
  • Create project schedules and coordinate with subcontractors daily.
  • Document activities and report updates in project management software.
  • Handle submittals, change orders, RFIs, and other related documents.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and site layouts according to specifications.
  • Propose bids and determine labor and material costs for projects.
  • Attend client meetings and coordinate with clients onsite.
  • Ensure daily job-site clean-up and set-up for the next day's operations.
  • Secure and lock the site before ending the shift.
  • Occasionally use basic hand and power tools.

The Assistant Construction Manager will be involved in supporting projects ranging from $10,000 to $1,000,000 for clients such as banks, fast-food chains, and gas stations. The candidate will spend most of their time onsite and must be comfortable working night shifts and weekends, as many remodels occur during these times. After gaining experience, there is an opportunity to work on larger projects during regular daytime hours. The office in Mokena, IL, has a family-oriented atmosphere with 20-25 full-time employees. The role involves working 40-55 hours per week, including occasional Saturdays. The office features a secure area for trucks and equipment.
