About the role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Crew II in our Natural Resources department. We are seeking qualified applicants for the Bloomington, IL area for full-time work. We are looking at 40 plus hours a week depending on weather and workload.
What your day-to-day will look like
  • Independently performs construction work that could include but not limited to natural restoration, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water service.
  • Oversee Natural Resource staff assisting with construction activities.
  • Oversee of subcontractors on construction sites.
  • Complete work for municipalities, subdivisions, and private clients.

Education/Certification Requirements
  • Must have a Class C CDL for State of Illinois or be able to attain it within 3 months of start.

Must-haves, what you will bring
  • 2+ years of construction experience.
  • Must be 18 years old with a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to read a set of engineering plans and assist in putting together cost estimates for bids.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Chicagoland, Central Illinois, and Northwest Indiana areas (own transportation).
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel on short notice and stay overnight as needed.
  • Ability to move and carry 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate a skid steer and excavator preferred.
  • Knowledge of native ecosystems a plus.

Compensation The pay range for this role is $28.00-$38.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
