Job description

Morton Buildings, Inc. is the industry leader in post-frame construction. The Drafter Estimator Associate is a full-time position responsible for the development and organization of detailed construction plans and material documentation needed to ensure profitable completion of repair/warranty projects.

Essential Functions

  • Develops various forms of Architectural building plans from written contracts within an AutoCAD system; including building specifications and layouts, sections, details, truss drawings, and specialty items for building code issues.
  • Assembles material take-offs based on building plans; preparing material requisitions for specialty components and ordering specialty merchandise from vendors.
  • Interacts & develops relationships with various individuals across the company; including engineers, architects, construction estimators, sales estimators, project managers, sales consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-year Architectural Drafting degree/certificate and/or previous estimating experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and possess the ability to meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a positive, willing to learn attitude.
  • Able to work independently, as well as within a team setting. 
  • Service minded with excellent communication skills.
