Position Overview

GTG Custom Home Builders is seeking a Construction Manager who thrives on bringing structure, clarity, and leadership to complex custom home projects.

This is not a traditional Project Manager or field Superintendent role.

You will serve as the operational leader across multiple builds, owning schedules, supporting and elevating Site Managers, and ensuring projects run proactively instead of reactively. If you're someone who sees problems before they happen, builds systems that others follow, and leads teams to perform at a higher level, this is the role for you.

What You'll Own

Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Own and manage construction schedules across multiple custom home projects (typically 4-6 at a time)
  • Ensure alignment between trade sequencing, material availability, and project timelines
  • Proactively identify risks to schedule and resolve issues before they impact progress

Leadership & Team Performance

  • Lead, coach, and hold Site Managers accountable to expectations and performance standards
  • Provide clarity, direction, and support to ensure consistent execution across all projects
  • Elevate the performance of the field team through structure, communication, and follow-through

Pre-Construction & Execution Readiness

  • Review scopes of work and project details to ensure readiness before trades mobilize
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missing information early-and resolve them proactively
  • Drive a "no surprises" approach to project execution

Operational Excellence & Systems

  • Ensure consistent and effective use of JobTread across all active projects
  • Reinforce process adherence, documentation, and task completion (including MITs)
  • Bring organization and accountability to day-to-day operations

Client Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout construction via JobTread
  • Deliver clear, timely, and professional communication that builds confidence and trust

Project Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Oversee project closeout processes and ensure completion documentation is accurate and timely
  • Review and validate change orders prior to client submission
  • Collaborate with trade partners to improve performance, quality, and reliability
  • Assist in evaluating and onboarding new trade partners as needed
  • Support material coordination, ensuring orders are accurate, delivered, and properly organized on-site
What Success Looks Like
  • Projects consistently stay on schedule with minimal disruptions
  • Site Managers are aligned, accountable, and performing at a high level
  • Clients feel informed, confident, and supported throughout the build
  • Problems are identified early and resolved before impacting timelines
  • Clear, organized systems drive consistency across all projects
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in residential construction management (custom homes preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing control of details
  • Experience leading or mentoring field teams (Site Managers, Superintendents, or similar roles)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
  • Comfort working with construction management software (JobTread is strongly preferred)
  • Clear, professional communication skills with both clients and internal teams
Why GTG Custom Home Builders
  • High-end custom home projects with a strong reputation for quality and client experience
  • A leadership team committed to improving systems, structure, and team performance
  • An opportunity to step into a role that has real impact across the organization-not just on one job

If you want to lead teams, bring structure to complex builds, and create a better way of operating, we'd love to meet you.
