Key Position Details:

  • Position will be based out of Cottage Grove but will travel to Allina Health Clinics within Twin Cities Area for project based work
  • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
  • 10-hour day/evening/night shifts
  • Occasional weekends

Job Description:

Performs general construction labor in active healthcare environments, supporting renovation, retrofit, and infrastructure projects within occupied hospitals and clinics. Performs material handling, site preparation, dust mitigation, and cleanup activities while adhering to healthcare infection prevention, life safety, and safety requirements.
Plays a critical part in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors while minimizing disruption to ongoing clinical operations. Partners closely with skilled trades, contractors, and facilities teams to maintain project timelines and site integrity.
Principle Responsibilities

  • Performs general construction labor including material handling, site preparation, demolition assistance, and cleanup activities.
  • Assists skilled trades including carpenters, electricians, plumbers, HVAC, and fire protection personnel by staging materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Implements healthcare specific infection control measures including ICRA compliance, dust containment, HEPA vacuuming, and barrier installation.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and debris free work areas in occupied clinical and patient care environments; safely removes construction waste.
  • Supports Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) including egress protection, fire safety readiness, and temporary life safety controls.
  • Follows OSHA regulations, hospital safety policies, PPE requirements, and participates in required safety and infection prevention training.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description


Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational Training in Construction, Facilities, Maintenance, or related field
  • 1+ years General construction, facilities maintenance, or labor experience; healthcare or occupied facility experience


Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment
  • OSHA 10 & 30 preferred upon hire -Construction safety training


Physical Demands

  • Very Heavy Work:
  • Lifting weight excess of 100 lbs. occasionally, over 50 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $23.22 to $31.83 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
