Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking a full-time Project Assistant (Construction Management) to provide onsite Construction Facilities Management (CFM) support at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT. This role supports major renovation and construction efforts within an active VA medical facility by providing administrative and coordination support in accordance with Government requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform full-time onsite administrative and project support at an occupied VA medical facility.
  • Working knowledge of federal construction processes and documentation requirements preferred.
  • Experience providing administrative support on construction or facilities projects.
  • Ability to support project documentation and tracking including daily activity logs, meeting minutes, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, inspection reports, and closeout documentation
  • Ability to organize, sort, file, and track construction-related documentation.
  • Experience scheduling and coordinating meetings, site walks, and distributing meeting materials.
  • Ability to coordinate with contractors, designers, and Government stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Kahua or other VA/federal construction management systems preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Relevant Experience 

  • Experience supporting construction management, engineering, or facilities projects.
  • Experience working on healthcare, VA, or federally funded construction projects preferred.
  • Experience supporting projects within occupied facilities strongly preferred.
  • Prior VA, VISN, Department of Defense, or other federal healthcare facility experience a plus.

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing administrative or project support within a construction or facilities environment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to see, hear, walk, drive, climb, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be prepared to encounter all construction site conditions, including noise, dust, heights, odors, and enclosed spaces, and be physically capable of traversing sites with unstable footing, stairs, rough terrain, adverse weather, ladders, roofs, and other mobility-challenging conditions. Must possess the physical ability to take measurements, perform tests comparing in-place work to contract requirements, and observe work activities throughout the course of construction.
